identification of nazi browning
Hello,
I recieved parts of a browning, frame, slide and grips. It appears similar to GB auctions 16624933 and 16698014. Has wood grips frame is marked with nazi eagle with circle below it and what appears to be another eagle with the # 140 . slide has nazi eagle and two more eagles with a WA and the # 140. The slide and frame are same 5 digit serial number. Has fixed sites (rear only) and rust problems. Missing clip, barrel and piece with front site.
Any idea what caliber and is it worth while looking for a barrel and other parts? I thank any who respond. I check back later.

The Nazi's produced a version with the slide extention. It is usually called the 1922. Most of those were in 7.65 (.32 ACP) The Waffenamts you mentioned are from the FN plant in occupied Belgium. Parts are fairly easy to order and if made serviceable, the weapon goes for $175 to $325 depending on the buyer's desire. 0 -
some ww2 rifles had the nazi markings removed if the gun was a russian capture
