Springfield 1864
I was wondering if anybody knows what this rifle might be worth. I am trying to find some info on this rifle for a friend. The overall condition of the rifle is very good and in working order. The stock has some wear but is not bad. The bore looks to be excellent for its age with no pitting or rust. The trigger assembly works flawlessly. I dont have any experience with older rifles and any information would be greatly appreciated.

1864 Dated lockplates were used for both muzzle loading and breech loading rifles ( Trapdoors ).
Your going to have to give us specific dimensional data on the rifle, along with all markings and/or proofmarks, for us to help you.
High quality, close up photos are preferable and would expedite the appraisal process.
