I shoot clays with 2 or 3 guys shooting AL391 Urika's. They bring them every week, so they must like them.

I shoot skeet once a week, usually at least 50 shells through my gun per week. I have fired about 2500 shells through my 20g Benelli Legacy so far. I have had the bolt not travel all the way forward 3 times. I attribute this to the gun not being cleaned often (I clean it maybe once every 3 months). This is the only trouble it has given me. I have had to wait while many other semi-auto shooters did on the spot repairs to their guns. I call this rock solid reliability.

I would have bought a Sport II but they don't make it in a 20g. Most of the old timers have complimented my gun for the wood, engraving etc. But for $1180 shipped, it should look good. You will not be disappointed with a Benelli. One note, I had a O/U shooting buddy talked into a Benelli until he shot mine. He said that he could not get used to the sound of the action (like a springing sound) on his shoulder. Just thought that I'd mention it. I don't even notice it.

Last note: Most of my skeet shooting friends are older guys who do not like to pick up their hulls. This is why most of them shoot O/U's.

I can only second the fact, that you wouldn't regret buying a Benelli.

Yes, it might feel different and take a little getting used to, but if you say the Shims help - just use them.
I tried to mount one of the shims and yes, you can alter the cast on/off quite nice - my Benelli Super Black Eagle fit like a glove in the standard setting, as do most guns. Just had to try out the Shim-idea - no harm in that. =o)

I have seen, held, meddled with and operated a lot of the models - including the M4 right when it came out.
I've shot a few, The Nova pumpgun and the semiauto SBE.

I too like the simplicity of the Benelli's, the safety is quite allright too.

I especially like the loading/unloading procedure for the Super Black Eagle - just pull the bolt, eject the shell into your hand and release the bolt - the magazine will not release a shell into the chamber, so it will stay empty. Then just unload the magazine like with any other pump or semiauto.
I'm not sure if the Centro Sport have this feature - but I like that for hunting.

Like Bang Bang says - there's a lot of people who doesn't like to pick up the empty shells and out of that desides to buy a double barrel.
Some Trap/Skeet doublebarrels doesn't have ejector - this might be what some people are looking for in a gun - out of convenience.

At our range, we've always had a fine mesh netting laid out around the shooting-stand, easy to just pick up and clean an entire stand for empty shells.

Don't do anything that I've allready done - That'd be just plain STOOOOOOPID.
