Help id this ammo.

I found some boxes of ammo I'm guessing to be 303 british. It has on the box 50rds 7.7x54R56R BALL R1M3Z 050 A8/80. Thanks for any help.

  Got a discrepancy here. The metric designation for 303 British ammo is 7.7 x 56R.
  
  If you could get some cartridges out of the box, and give us the headstamp data and the rim, body dimensions etc. We could probably pin it down for you.

  I meant to put 56 not 54 I don't know what I was thinking. On the headstamp it says A80 7.7 R1M3Z.

  ( 2 ) manufacturer's in different countries used the "A" code on their 303 ammo.

  I believe "Z" is nitro-cellulose rather than Cordite.
