Hiwalls in Ballard calibers
Just wondering if anyone knows how many Hiwalls were made in Ballard calibers, not the 32-40 or 38-55 Ballard as those were "Winchesterized", but calibers such as 40-70 Ballard, 40-90 Ballard or others. I have a Hiwall in 40-90 Ballard, so I know at least one. It was shipped in 1891.
Thanks,

Hello blackpowdermax,
Yes, I have that information (and it will be published in my future reference book about the Model 1885 Single-Shot).
32 Ballard Extra Long = 48
38 Ballard Extra Long = 5
38-50 Ballard = 1
40-50 Ballard = 13
40-70 Ballard = 339
40-90 Ballard = 104
45-90 Ballard = 5
Is you high-wall marked "40-90 BALLARD" or "40-90 BAL".
If you don't mind, please contact me through the information in my profile (I would like to know a bit more about your old high-wall).
Regards,
Bert H.
