broken screw

I got a Stevens 311 with the screw broken off on the trigger guard. What is the easiest way to get this stub of the screw out?

    Not trying to be funny - best take it to a gunsmith that is set up to do this work. Most home hobbyists will end up making a mess out of it.

    The top of the screw needs to be milled flat. A very sharp centerpunch to indent the center, and a very careful drill stand use of a new drill bit just undersize of the screw. Then, a thread chaser to clean out the remains of the old screw. Usually, the smith will clean hole and drill to next size larger if the screw doesn't come out cleanly.
