19th British double rifle
I am trying to find information about a 19th century British SxS double rifle I recently acquired. Any info, including its worth, would be apppreciated.
"Adams & Co" is stamped on the left barrel, while "9 Finsbury Place South London" is stamped on the right barrel
It has two hammers and two triggers
It opens via a lever under the trigger guard that moves laterally
Although there is no caliber designation that I could find, the previous owner said it was a .577 metallic cartridge (not N.E.)
S/N is 3436
The previous owner estimated that it was made in the late '70s or early '80s
The barrels are 28" long and the LOP to the right trigger is 14-5/8"
It has one standing and two folding rear leaf sights
I have numerous photos I could attach to an e-mail if that would make identification easier. Thanks - bigbuff470

According to my reference Adams & Company was a well known Firearms manufacturer in 19th Century England.
There was apparently a number of Adams's involved in the gun business during that era, it's not altogether clear what their relationship, if any, was to each other?
Henry Adams did business at 9 Finsbury Place, between 1870 & 1880.

Most liely .577-450...John Adams was a Gun Designer and The Company that manufactured them was known as Adams Patent Small Arms Company, London, England -, 1864-1892...In absolute Pristine Condition is worth Several Thousand Dollars...Guns like yours are not as valuable as one would think...$500.00 to $650.00.....The Flip Up Sights are known as Safari Sights..The 577-450 was not meant to be an African Caliber...but rather an Indian or Continent Caliber...Tigers and Stag and Boar ol'Boy...say What Chap...
