Have a chance to pick-up a nice Weatherby Regency 12ga with 26" barrels in IC/M for about $750 bucks. This gu has beautiful wood and is in excellent shape. It is Italian made by A. Zoli in the early 70's. I would be interested in hearing any comments about this gun.
    Many Thanks!

weatherby's are basically SKB's. your model is known as the regency trap. it is definatley for trap shooting. trap guns have straight or m/c stocks. (optional.) does it say anywhere on the gun whether its from italy or japan? i can narrow it down more for you if you can.

continuing my info & questions, your gun was made btwn 65 and 82. importation began in 72. i may have been wrong at first. it is the field grade gun and i'll bet it has a very thin space between the vent rib and the top bbl, right? that was to keep down the mud from getting in it. the field grade gun is without the rib btwn the bbls too. its choked mod and full. it is well suited for both trap and hunting. its a nice gun worth an easy 900 or 1000.00 if in good shape.

Thank you for the information. I was hoping you were right the first time when you said it was a trap model, since I am really getting into trap shooting[:p]. It is made in Italy, and does have the mod full barrels. It is kinda wierd how it has the 30" barrrels. But they do not have the vent rib between the barrels and the top rib only has about a 3/16" gap. Oh well, maybe I can trade someone for a trap model. thanks again.

you have a very fine gun and it will serve you well in trap shooting too. just keep in mind most field guns shoot flat. in other words you may have to cover the target and pull the trigger. since trap birds climb, trap guns have a built in adjustment to compensate for that, like m/c stocks and high patterns. mod/full will work fine for choking, but the stock may be a little too low for you. just shoot high, and it will get you going! enjoy it! its a very desirable gun being from italy.
