when was this thing made the last patent date is april 16 1912. It has the tapering octagon barrel with the barrel code being WU The serial number is 716272 its been in the family since my great grandpa bought it new.

  whats the deal mine shoots shorts longs and long rifles so wouldnt it be a 12a or straight up 12?
