You might try www.precisionreloading.com remington industrial hulls 100/$36.00. Anymore these are used for knocking clinkers off of coal furnace flues, and other odd situations. 0 -
Sorry i cant help you with the ammo but i was just curious as to what kind of shotgun it is you have? I always love to read about the biggest big bores even though id rather watch the other guy shoot em! 0 -
The shotgun is not mine it is my grandfathers, one day mine. It is an old side by side double hammered damascous barreled gun. It was made around the turn of the century. We think that he bought it from the original owner in the 50's with 5 boxes of paper shells. Some are still not shot. It shoots black poder and is english made the name is B something brothers. And it weighs 15lbs DONTkick to bad, like a 12 or 10 gauge. Thats about it. any idea what it would e worth yet it would never be sold case ive seen them from 600 to 42000 0 -
Becker, I recently bought a F. Mullin single barrel (4) bore from an estate sale. The gun has a 48" bbl and wieghs 29lbs. and is shoulder fired. It's the last large bore size before you get into the English punt guns.
Luckily it came with one loaded UMC shell. I did a bit of reverse engineering on the shell and had some brass ones turned out on a lathe. So you can try this approach if you have a spent or loaded shell.
Also on the $$ amount. This Mullin cost me $2,500.00 and is in overall good to very good condition.0 -
becker, the suggestion about Precision Reloading is your best bet. Any BP shells or the brass hulls are firmly in the collector sphere. I have a few original paper tube rounds and several of the tinned brass reloadable shells of the pre-1900 era. All sell for a double digit figure - each. Even live 8ga kiln shells typically bring around $5 each (not that you should even think about using one of these in that heirloom).

there were also 2 bores made but i believe they were all blackpowder elephant rifles not shotguns 0 -
I maybe able to help you some what with 8 gauge shells. I happen to have one hundred and forty boxes of winchester plastic number two lead. twenty five per box eight or ten boxes per case.

JUST REMEMBER. If this thing has Damascus barrels, you should ONLY shoot blackpowder out of it, IF you shoot it at all. If you shoot smokeless, will it blow? Well... maybe, maybe not. I sure wouldn't try it.

there is a way to shoot smokeless. My grandfather has the ratio for it yet this is from when the smokeless was not as strong. Now he got a new formula yet has not tried it 0
