There is a dealer that specializes in Winchester and Colt commemoratives called Cherries Commemoratives. They have all the info you could possibly imagine on every single Colt commemorative with pictures. They are listed by year of issue. If you do a search, the listing will come right up. The prices shown will be the blue book value but be forwarned that those values are "pie in the sky" dreams. Getting someone to actually fork out that kind of cash for a gun they can't even shoot is a farce.

    Good luck

    ....I never met a gun I didn't like!

There is no "Colt Santa Fe Commemorative" listed in the Blue Book....either under Colt, or the U.S. Historical Society.

Perhaps somebody else had these made up, but I have no idea who that might be.

    You might want to contact:

    Santa Fe County Historical Society
    P.O. Box 1985
    Santa Fe, NM 87504

    or.......

Santa Fe Trail Museum & Historical Society
    P.O. Box 323
    Springer, NM 87747

    Phone: 505-483-2682 (City of Springer)

Perhaps they might know something about it.

Xracer is correct. It is not a "Colt" commemorative; it is a "special edition".

The difference is that a "commemorative" is cataloged by the manufacturer & is available to dealers through the normal chain of distribution. A "special edition" is a special gun ordered by a person, distributor, or organization solely for its own use.

Generally, "special editions" are worth about the same as a standard model of the gun in excellent used condition, maybe a few dollars more. There is no "book value" on these; the only way to know for sure is to list one for auction & hope you can find a buyer.
