I am looking at Beretta 21A in .22LR. Please give me your opinion on it. Also I would like to hear swome other suggestions. I have lots of experience woth 9mm and 45ACP but .22LR somehow was missed. Now I want to buy one of them just to get more familiar with this cathegory.

I have owned several. My lastest is a Stainless version. I happen to really like them. The 2 previous blued ones were sold to buddies at camp when they saw how compact they were. Mine have been completely reliable with all sorts of ammo. Feed it good quality ammo and you should never have any sort of problem with it. 0 -
I luv my Ruger Mk.II, 6" target. Would never part with it!! It doesn't like CCI Stingers, though---pity. 0 -
invest in an old hamden high standard in any grade. shoot it for 20 more years and even sell it at a profit. bar none, the finest 22 ever made. it never goes down in value because of it.

Look at the Ruger MK1 or 2. Mine has the 6 7/8" barrel and a trigger job. Grip angle, feel and balance are great. Mine was bought when the price was $57.50 or $62.50 I forget. They are accurate beyond my ability. 0 -
get a walther p22, its a really fun gun to shoot and they only cost about $300. 0 -
I'm just a 22 fan period...heres a few that should get more respect..BERSA23, H&R side kick,HI-Standard sentinel revolvers, charter arms pathfiders and plenty more if you ever see a Beretta model 71 in 22 grab it they were great ,the Walther p22 is very good, Rugers are home runs also and the Beretta 21 with the right ammo is a great back up for some reason mine loves winchester solid 40 grn hi-speed...22 are just fun , cheap and sadly under-rated for protection......................Billy 0 -
Bobski..
Right on about the High Standard. Can't be beat. Been shooting one of them for over 30 years...no problems.

Isn't that the little Beretta? I would not get it unless you also needed a pocket gun. Good for that.
If it is as accurate as my Tomcat (next caliber up), you'll be shooting near/in the "XX"'s at 25 yards with a little practice
I'd go with a Browning Buckmark Standard w/a 5.5" barrel.
Really accurate (I've shot @ 100 yards.)

Iv'e got a Ruger Mkll target 10" barrel I like. Shoot silhouetts with it. Grip angle and feel are great. A little barrel heavy for plinking.
S&W model 617 that has a fantastic triger and also shoots great.
Browning buckmark 10" barrel also for silhouetts. Since I have small hands this one doesn't feel as good as the ruger but it is super accurate. I shot my first 40x40 with it.
All 22s are a lot of fun. I don't think you would go wrong with any brand or model.

Can't go wrong with a JENNINGS!
GET A JENNINGS, MAN![:D]
Yes guys, I'm just kidding. I like the Beretta. Haven't had the pleasure in shooting the ruger though.

For the money you can't beat a Ruger MkII.

The 21A is very ammo sensitive. I have had experience with a couple of them that friends purchased. I carried a sack of all the different 22 ammo I had and found a couple that they would work with. It is hard to make a 22 LR small pistol work. You would be better off with a small 22 revolver;S&W,Taurus, etc. 0
