I seem to recall that it is not recommended because of ammonia in the paste or some other chemical in it that reacts with the brass or powder.

Ditto to Skyking, the ammonia in Brasso weakens the brass cases.

I use "Flitz" it has no ammonia or abrasives, and they specifically recommend it, for cleaning brass.

As per above, brasso is not the way to go. Flitz is good and so are the additives that are usually advertised with the media in catalogs, or displayed with media in the stores or at gun shows.

Thanks for the question. I've always used Brasso and didn't know it wasn't recommended. Glad to learn from other posts. 0 -
BRASSO IS FINE FOR BELT BUCKELS, BUT A NO/NO ON CATRIDGE CASINGS. 0
