AR-15 in 7.62X39

I received an AR-15 upper in 7.62X39 last week and proceeded to the local gravel pit to try it out. It was cold and raining so only fired off 20 rounds. Accuracy seemed acceptible (was only shooting at rocks) but was disappointed with the ammo. I ordered 1000 rounds of Wolf 122 gr FMJ from Cabelas. The price was good but of the 20 rounds I fired, 3 failed. I tried them again, same outcome. The primers had deep, centered hits. Is this ammo that unreliable or was I just unlucky? Any comments appreciated. Thanks in advance.[V]

The ammo you are speaking of has a very hard primer. Designed to be hit with the force of an AK type weapon. The AR's hit with less force. My 2 cents [8D]

Also another thing that you will notice is that wolf ammo will jam up when shooting alot of rounds. I personaly will not use them. I know that they are cheap but if I was you I would use different brand of ammo. I have seen Wolf ammo not fire (like what you stated) and jam because of the residue in the chamber. My thoughts.
