Leupold's new B&C reticle

I'm interested in the new Leupold VX-III in 4.5-14x40, w/ the Boone & Crockett reticle, but I've heard that the reticle is extremely thick (to the point of obstructing the target) on higher magnifications. Has anyone out there bought one yet, and, if so, what do you think? I can't just eyeball one myself because Leupold hasn't shipped them to my local dealers yet, but I got a new-scope bug pretty bad right now. (I try to scratch that itch whenever possible.)
