What's a well used Sig 228 worth?

At this past weekend's Kansas City Gunshow (Blue Ridge Mall) Arms Mart, a good gun store and where I shoot, had several Sig 228's for sale. They were used, bluing was thin in some places, and really thin at sharp edges as if a policeman's gun that had gone in and out of the holster many times. Finish was okay, these were 9mm without night sites and the price was $800. I thought that was rather high. I paid less than that for a brand new Sig 229, .40 caliber with their night sites.

    $800???? For a well used Sig 228?? Were these guys wearing masks?
    Highway robbery! I would expect to pay about $400 for a used P228 in decent shape.

    I consider all the local gun stores, especially Lee's Summit and Arms Mart, to be high. I have looked at guns in these stores that are just out of site. But these ones didn't look anywhere new and had the used tag. One store sells Kahr MK's for $499. That is probably okay. One sells new Walther PPK/S's for $499 and the the Sig guys for $560!!!
