Foster?
I have a gun I took in trade for money a friend owed. It really shoots great. I cant find anything on who made it. The frame reads FOSTER. The barrel is a BAR STO. The slide reads Norinco 1911-A1. I know who Norinco and BAR STO is, but who is FOSTER?

Just a thought on your post. You don't make it clear if there is a serial number on the frame besides the "Foster" marking?
At one time it was legal for a manufacturer to put any combination of letters and digets on the frame to be used as a serial number, as long as there were no more then nine in total.
A & R Sales, who were in business 25 years ago in Southern California, sold a number of pistols with this type of serial number,i.e. Initials, Birth Dates, Badge Numbers, Social Security Numbers, etc.

I checked my reference lists and don't get a hit on a Foster, but there are a lot of small shop (garage, basement, etc.) operations that take and fit up pieces parts into custom or semi-custom pistols.
From your comments about accuracy and that it has a bar sto fitted to it my guess is a small (micro) customizer who's name is Foster.
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0 -

I kinda thought it might be a small customizer as well. The FOSTER really looks machine stamped and not something someone added. More help is needed.

I asked a question above about how many years would a person get if they broke into a shop and stole 15 firearms and how many would a illegal immigrant get and no one replied, I am shocked. Either you don't care or you don't know. Well, it was my shop. If I had done the crime I would be sitting in prison for a very long time. The ATF did'nt even press charges against the two who did. They just wanted to ship them back so they could beat the bus back. That in itself is a crime! What does that tell the illegals?

Not that anybody did not want to answer but that question would be much better posted on the General Discussion board. Very few on this board would confess to being an expert on law or immigration.

What you say is correct, but the "Catch-22" is that we have different forums for different interests, so those people on this forum, if they do not look at the others ... they probably are not interested in seeing it here.
No one is saying that what you point out is not a problem, and we could fill up pages worth of the forum just recounting a fraction of the problems associated with illegal immigration, etc., etc. then we would not have the forum as it was intended to be.
That's why we try and stick to the "topic", but as this is reply number 10 and your new to the "family" I thought I would try and give you some rationale that would not leave you with the wrong impression of us. Please, come back often and bring us your firearms questions, or even other technical stuff ... lot of expertise here.
