SAKO mannlicher stock seperate barrel from wood?
i just got a sako vixen mannlicher stock rifle. what is the key to getting the barrel out of the stock? the stock is two seperate pieces divided at the barrelband. it seems like there is a pin or insert that helps to hold the two pieces of wood together inside the wood at the split(it is why i can't get the two seperated). i loosened the band by taking out the screw. i also took off the end shroud but that doesn't seem to have anything to do with it.
i tried pulling the end wood straight out. tried sliding the barrel and wood parallel up from the main stock. i slid the band forward so the split is exposed and it and the front wood would come off attached the barrel.
any help is appreciated. please e-me. thanks!

Here's a drawing with all of the parts broken down and drawn in relationship to each other.
