Just curious what you all think of the Hk p7
I had been looking for an HK p7 for some time so I could have a ccw to match my usp .45. I think this pistol is one of the best handguns available in the .9mm as far as its ease of use and its mechanics. Albeit, the price is out there. Just curious about your experience with the p7 and if you have any info about hk replacement mag prices as i only have one mag with the weapon

I have a P7M8. It is a very unique design and takes some getting used to.
I bought it as a collector piece and do not plan to carry it. I use Glocks for training, competition and for my work gun, so transitioning to the squeeze cocker would be a big jump. My dept does not allow them for on duty use anyway.
The P7 guns are very well made and reliable but as you mentioned a bit expensive.

I've shot the single stack and double stack versions. They're neat guns, extremely reliable!!! The squeeze-cocker action makes for a relatively long grip front-to-back which can be bothersome if you have small hands, especially since it's wider at the top than at the bottom. It's kinda neat to be able release the slide just by squeezing the grip.
However, as high quality as they are, it's really hard for me to justify how insane the prices of these have gotten. I remember in Europe in the late 80's, early 90's, you could find them for around $400-500. Now you're looking at at least double and closer to triple that. WAAAAY overpriced IMHO.0 -
Still kicking myself in the rear for not buying one for $450 in one of the shows a year ago. I ended up buying an M1S90 for $600.
Too many toys not enough $$$

In my opinion the HK P7 is this best concealed pistol available.
It has HK reliability.
Safe for carry with one chambered, extremely accurate through rapid fire.
Small, easy to conceal
Ammo plentiful and cheap
Will retain its value
I am a 1911 style fan having carried everything from Walther PPK's (yuk), to HK tactical, with Glocks and Colts thrown in for good measure. It DID take a little getting used to, but not much. All you have to do is squeeze and shoot. The squeeze came natural for me, other opinions vary.
The cheapest way to get into a P7 is to go P7PSP. They are older models that have seen police service. You can pick them up cheap and have them refinished for cheap.

I have a M7, M8, and M10. The M10 weighs a ton, but they are excellent guns for shooting. The only problem I had was when not squeezing the cocker, I was pointing too high.
One word of caution. They fire two ways. You can fire them by squeezing cocker and pulling the trigger and by holding the trigger and squeezing the cocker.0 -

THANK YOU for the link! I have been a P7M8 owner for years and I will enjoy this site. Again, thanks!

I bought one when they first imported them. It is a good gun. Only thing I don't like is they get very warm when you shoot it a lot. Look on the GB auctions, I see magazines offered there quite often. 0
