S&W blue steel guns?
Has anyone heard if S&W has any plans to produce any quality blued steel guns? It appears their current attempts at blueing guns are below standard when compared to their older models. Is it the steel they are now using or is it the blueing process?

It is the blueing process plus cost. To get a good old fashion blue requires polishing and hand work. With labor costs high it is not price competitive to do the polishing in todays market. The old rust blue system also runs afoul of some environmental laws and is time consuming. Many of the old problems of machining stainless steel have been solved which makes the stainless models more attractive to manufacturers...........Hondo 0 -
In factory or performance shop finishes you will never again see the deep blue finsihes as it is part process and a large part labor costs. 
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0
