? on Remington short action
If you lay a straight edge across the top of a Remington short action, will the back of the action and the front of the action be the same elevation and no light be under the straightedge except for the ejection port?
A Leupold 1 pc. base is a straight pc. of metal, no offset on elevation and will not fit my 700 sa. There is probably 1/32" daylight between the back of base and the action.
Are some actions "level, on the same plane" across the top of action and some have a "step down" on the back of action.
Replaced the Leupold with an IOR base and it fit like a glove.
What is happening?
Thanks

Leupold makes a 1piece base for specific rifles
action,if you want it to fit a Remington you have to
