H&R Mod. 949 question
Can anyone tell me if I can shoot .22 shorts in a 949? I saw a listing in blue book of gun values that stated the "fourty-niner" shoots shorts, long, and lr. My gun only says .22 lr. Thanks for any help.

yes, but don't make a habit out of it or your gonna be spending a lot of time cleaning it ... also there is a good chance the point of aim/impact will change and I suspect accuracy my be off some too.
Same applies w/ 22 longs if you run across any of them.
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0 -
I have a H&R Model .999 that I fired 100 count of .22 shorts through. Even after that I noticed it was getting a little snug for LR's to slide in. I cleaned the fouling and had no problems but I haven't done it since on account of it being a pain in the ass.
