The differences in SA and LA are the calibers. Short acton are your 223,243,6mm,308 etc, Long action 270win,3006,300win mag etc. Difference in adl and bdl, adl don't have a detachable magazine but the bdl does and the bdl has better wood to metal fit. 0 -
Short action refers to cartridge length, .223, .308, 22-250, .243, etc, are among the family of short action cartridges, long action are 30-06, .270, 25-06, .300Winmag among countless others. the BDL refers to the stock, BDl have detachable magazines, nicer wood and a couple of other diffrences i think the BDL's are more expensive. Other folks can give you a better idea about adl/bdl. 0 -
Thank you for a perfect explanation!![^] 0 -
The adl bdl difference is mainly magazine design but stock differences also come into play. The adl whether synthetic or wood has a blind box magazine. That means that it loads from the top and the only way to get the bullets out is to cycle the action until empty. The adl rifles do have some nice stocks. But they are satin finish wood without all the fancy crap. The bdl rifles have either a hinged floorplate or a detachable box magazine. And the wood is maybe a tad better but has a glossy finish and usually a black end cap at the tip of the forend. The bdl is also offered in a synthetic stock version. As for performance differences, it depends on the caliber you choose. The rule that the most powerful rounds are always long actions went out the window with the intro. of the short magnums. There is a ballistics chart on remingtons website with plenty of info on the individual rounds. Hope this helps.
