GLOCK OR KIMBER?
Good evening all. Ok, here is the question of the day. I priced a glock 21 ($545.00) and a kimber custom II ($659.00), both are .45's, but which one is the better weapon and why? I've got a return check burning in my pocket waiting for your responses. As always, thanks for all replys. Have a great weekend.

KIMBER!!All metal, very well made, one of the best .45acp's out there and from the ones I have seen they are very accurate pistols.Thats also a little steep for the Glock 21 from the prices I have gotten from a couple of local shops and from the auctions here at GunBroker but thats a descent price on that Kimber. If I could afford a Kimber I would get one.

why a 45acp when you can have a full 10mm? If you are going to use it for CCW then the Kimber the Glock is too big. my 2 cents [8D]

Get the Kimber. I bought the same one you're looking at 2 years ago. Great gun. Reliable, accurate. Wouldn't trade it for 5 Glocks. I don't understand why a gun should be that damn ugly. If I had to do it over, I'd have got the Stainless Target model. Adjuststable sights and of course, as the name implies, it's stainless. [;)]

Forget the Glock.
Before you buy the Kimber check out the Springfields. $650 buys you a lot of pistol when they are running promos
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0 -
The Kimber is the better investment (and in my opinion the better gun). Just go to a gun show and compare the number and price of used Glocks to the number and price of used Kimbers.

The best way is for you to go to a range that rents both or try a buddy's. I've owned both and the above comments are all good. The Kimber is definitely a sweet machine. But again the Glock definitely goes bang.........again and again and again. The trigger definely is different and has a completely different mindset. The Kimber is very well made but so is the Glock. 0 -
I've got a Glock 20 10mm and a Kimber 10mm and the Glock will ALMOST shoot with the Kimber and was $400 cheaper. I'd take the Glock because it is easy to shoot sub-calibers, especially if you get a 10mm. I also agree with Gap that the 10mm is a better choice. With a Glock 20 or 29 you can get barrels for .357 SIG or .40 S&W if you so choose.
The 10mm - either you've got it, or you don't get it...0 -
This is one hobby or passion where the phrase, "you get what you pay for" plays an important role. The kimber would offer you more customization possibilities as well as the fact that the name kimber almost always ensures a great handgun. Glocks are dime a dozen and not really too outstanding. They are great at being reliable but the comfort and appeal leave a lot to be desired. Kimbers offer the prestige of the name as well as the reputation associated with it. You will not be disappointed either way. However...like one of the other guys said, if you are looking for a .45 the springfields are just as good as the kimbers with the same look and performance.

Depends what you want out of the gun. The Glock will ultimately be more reliable and can withstand much more abuse before reliability slips (they're usually VERY reliable), but IMHO, the triggers suck, plastic doesn't feel as good as wood and metal, and they're no where near as accurate as the Kimbers.
The Kimbers have excellent fit and finish (best of any production 1911), much better out of the box accuracy and better triggers, but cannot with stand the abuse a Glock can and remain reliable.0
