Sporterized M1903A3 - Recommendations
Have been looking at a sporterized M1903A3 at a local dealer, seems to be in reasonable condition. What are your suggestions on things to check out prior to purchase?

Look at the bolt locking lugs, to make sure the surfaces are clean and smooth. No scoreing, pits or indentations. Look at the bolt face to see that it is smooth and clean. No pits, primer anulus ring indentation, etc. Look at the cocking cam on the bolt and make sure it is smooth and free from any pits, scoring etc. Make sure that the fireing pin tip is smooth and rounded, and has the correct protrusion from the bolt face when it is in the uncocked mode. visually ck for any cracks etc in the receiver. Make sure the scope base hole in the front reciever ring is not drilled and tapped in the front edge or middle of the locking lug area. These actions make fine sporters. 0 -
