Savage 311 "Letters"

Can anyone tell me what the difference in the Letters of the 311 Savage shotgun, for example...311A and 311H....when were these made?

Wayno--The 311 series H is a later version than the 311A.All the 311a that i have seen were made in the 50's--60's.I may be wrong,but i believe the H's were made late 60's--70's.with impressed checkering and some at least,with birch stocks instead of walnut.The materials and workmanship on the H series not quite as good as the A series.
