Good evening all. Ok, here is the question of the day. I priced a glock 21 ($545.00) and a kimber custom II ($659.00), both are .45's, but which one is the better weapon and why? I've got a return check burning in my pocket waiting for your responses. As always, thanks for all replys. Have a great weekend.

Hello, Kimber. 1911 style, heavy enough to tame the recoil of the .45ACP (I have never had a problem with it in my .45s but I have heard that the Glock it too light for it), and more custom options.

If "con" is the opposite of "pro," then what is the opposite of progress?

It is only a matter of preferance. I like my Kimber better than my Glock most of the time. Nothing wrong with either.

First let me say I don't really care for Glocks but for a carry or duty gun they are hard to beat. My personal choice would be the 1911 style but I am an old geezer. Which one 'feels' right and points naturally for you? Get that one.

I have owned a Glock 21 since 1995. Great firearm, accurate and reliable as they come. I still however prefer a 1911A1 just because of the way it fits my hands.

I have both in 10mm and the Kimber is SLIGHTLY more accurate than the Glock 20, but yet it cost me nearly $400 more so it's probably not worth the additional cost just for that. I've NEVER had a jam on either one so doesn't need to be taken into account either. Simply put, I'd think it comes down to these 2 things:
which one feels the best in YOUR hand.
What's your desired use for it?

The 1911 styled guns are a lot slimmer and thus some people like their grip better. However, if your use is target or competition then the Kimber might be a little better (but both would do just fine). If your use for the gun is home defense then I'd take the Glock hands-down. This is in no small part because of its magazine capacity.

I'd sure check out the 10mm unless you are stuck on .45's. If you're not familar with them then you'll be pleasantly suprised.

The 10mm - either you've got it, or you don't get it...
