Winchester Model 88/100

Two different rifles...but which one would make a better choice for collecting and personally, I like the basket-weave models. Appreciate insights and opinions...

  Collect what you like ... and the 100's will cost you less to acquire all 3 chamberings ... then you can start on the 88's

  I like the 88 best and I've had both although only one 100 and it never worked reliably. I had an 88 carbine w/18 1/2" barrel and although they go for a premium, it was one noisy gun!! If you like basket weave so be it, it'll save you $50 - $100 over cut checkering, but after a while I think you'll want "the real thing" instead of the fake pressed stuff. I personally think the BW is nice looking but only own the checkered models.
