S&W value question
I am obtaining a ccp in NC. I have a friend in my hometown of Parkersburg, WV that wants to sell a gun and I need the value of it. I am relatively new to the gun value business.
He has a Smith and Wesson 9mm 5904tsw. He bought it from Wayne Novak, IE sights. Wayne added a "reliable package", night sights, and a tacky grip. It also has three clips. I need to know the ballpark price of something like that. Thanks for the help.

wv,
Welcome to the forum. From your desc of the gun, I would estimate the value at around $375 to $450, plus $60 to $75 for the night sights.

$550-600 including the extra work, mag and sights is a fair ballpark range.

So $500.00 would be a good value? Is it a dependable and accurate gun? 0 -
I don't think it's worth $500. Look at the closed auctions on GB; you can't give away a plain M5904. Yes, the one you described has a lot of premium features, but it's still an aging gun chambered for a round that has lost its popularity. PDs traded in thousands of 9mm's on more powerful & more modern autos; why should you pay top dollar for old technology?
Besides, this a relatively large gun not really suitable for concealed carry. There are a lot of better choices.

I have the 5906 (9mm) with night sights and though it may be "old technology" it is the one in my night stand beside my bed. It is a joy to shoot, accurate, and in my opinion (MANY WILL ARGUE) adaquate power. I paid $550 for mine.
I do agree.....THIS IS NOT A CONCEAL GUN! Much too heavy and bulky.
