heavy 22lr bullets
I have a HK 91 with a 22lr conversion kit but I am having trouble finding ammo that does not cost a fortune that is heavy enough to cycle the gun any one know of any loads heavier than 40 grains.

yeah aguila has a 60 grain round which i think is the only 22 bullet you can get that is over 40 grains. its available from cabelas and other online retailers. 0 -
You might also try a bullet with a little more impulse. Try a higher velocity round first. Remember, force=mass x velocity squared so increases in velocity will have an exponential effect on recoil impulse where mass increases will only increase recoil proportionately.

I suspect the energy involved is momentum. In that case mass is just
as important as velosity. Increasing the velosity by using a lighter bullet would only work IF the velosity increase were greater than the reduction in bullet weight. Time might also be a factor in a blowback pistol & if so then the lower velosity bullet would have a longer time to impart recoil energy.0
