The CETME is probably going to work best with ammo in the 150gr range. Being a .308 it should be plenty for hunting deer and 5rd mags are available for this purpose to meet state laws requiring 5rd limits. Do a GB forum search for "CETME" and you'll get a lot of reviews from CETME owners, the quality seems to vary a lot depending on the quality of the replacement receivers.

The Cetme is in a Fine deer caliber the 308 winchester,But i would take into consideration where you will be hunting with the rifle Yes in most states it is perfectly legal to hunt with as long as it meets the magazine capicity regulations for deer, But i have seen many
cetme rifles suffer with problems and have poor quality. If you decide to get one just make sure it from a reputable dealer thet will back it up. Just my Opinion[;)]

Nothing wrong with them, but you have to remember they are service gun with corresponding accuracy ... even the good ones, and we won't even talk about the el cheapos.
Nothing wrong with the 308 cartridge, but to get good performance from the cartridge you have to have a go "launcher".
Add another $100 and get yourself a good used turnbolt.
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0
