    Unless your having serious accuracy problems, don't do it.

    However, if you feel that you have to ... order a kit from Midway and by doing that you'll have instructions plus 3 different grit compounds.

    This topic has been covered in the past week so you might want to do a search and see the other comments given.

    The nature of your question indicates you have an accuracy problem. I suggest you start with a telephone call to Remington customer service and get suggestions from them before firelapping. Firelapping is usually one of the last resort processes for a barrel with serious troubles.

    If you have to lap, do a hand lap first to see if that helps. With handlapping you have a lot of control over the degree.
