Predator Rounds
For those of you who do predator hunting on animals such as coyotes would you be so kind to give me suggestions on what would be a good round for a .243 on shots from 40-200 yards on such animals.
I dont reload nor am i wanting to get started so please keep suggestions on factory ammo that you have had success with.
Thanks.

Hornady makes a 58gr. V-max load that screams. The V-max bullet is known to break up when it hits to reduce ricochets. 0 -
I'd agree with beagle, get a couple different loads from hornady just to find the one your rilfe likes. 0 -
Go with the V-max. They work great on Coyotes and smaller hogs. That's all we use for varmits now. 0 -
Good advice on the Hornady v-max factory ammo Texas. It's good stuff. I handload them alot from 223-243 and have had good luck. They make 58gr,65gr and 75gr v-max in .243 but you hardly ever see the 75gr(at least in my area). If they say A-max rather than v-max they are target bullets.-- If you can't find the Hornady ammo some of the factory ammos are now loaded with Nosler ballistic tip bullets. They are about the same as the v-max with slightly different weights. They have a slightly thicker jacket and will out penetrate the v-max,but the result is the same on varmits.Up to 95gr weight in .243 are varmit bullets. The 95gr and up are hunting bullets.........Good luck...........[8D] 0 -
Well since it seems pretty unanimous amoung several of you that the Hornadys are the coyote getters i will purchase a box and see how they do in my Mohawk 600.
Looking at their ballistics on the Hornady site they really are some hot smoking rounds.
Thanks to all for the help.
