Steel Shot Shotgun Barrels

I have an old Remington 1100 (2 3/4" non-magnum receiver) that i'm getting refitted and refinished. I will be using it with an 18" plain barrel for my home defense needs, and i'm planning on ordering a 26" vent rib barrel to shoot trap at my local gun club. Might perhaps use this barrel to hunt some bird somewhere down the line.

I found a good deal on the barrel i'm looking for, but it is marked as a steel shot barrel. Is there any problem shooting lead shot through this? Or is it designed for the steel shot only?

  lead shot can be shot out of steel shot bbls but not the other way around. btw...go with the 28" bbl for clay birds. youll be happier off. make sure it has a center bead. youll need it to get good sight alignment.
