Cracked frame on Kahr PM9
Just bought a Kahr PM9. Love it to pieces; the problem is that I think its falling to pieces. With only 100 rounds through it, I noticed that on the left side of the frame, where the pivot pin is for the trigger, the plastic looks terrible, as if it "melted" a bit, and slightly cracked. It does not look as if it goes all the way through, but it is disconcerting. I have a total of 200 rounds through it, (all speer FMJ, no Plus P) and no problems whatsoever, other than noticing that defect, which I don't recall seeing before I went to the range. I'm taking it back to the shop, but anyone else have a similar problem?

Rev Moon & Son make junk.get your money back..Now 0 -
Your doing the right thing by following your warranty process.
Of the people that I know that have them, there have been no problems and they are happy with their pistols.
I've shot a couple of them ... they're OK but I don't care for the full (Rev.) Moon and therefore by extension his setting "son" and since I wouldn't give money to the airport tambourene shakers I'm not about to give them to another of the cults businesses.
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0 -
Contrary to the learned opinion expressed by Billy, Kahr makes a very high quality pistol. Both the engineering and the construction are of the highest quality. You can find some lemons from any maker, but the average Kahr will never give you trouble. They are accurate and reliable.
I own and operate a K9 Elite, and it is the best pistol in that size that I have ever used. The polymer series pistols had some teething troubles, but they are far from being junk.
I didn't get any religious literature with my owner's manual.0 -
If we are talking politics, then certainly we'd say goodbye & so long to Sig & Walther. But is there anything, like a solvent that may contribute to this condition? I cleaned using a spray that said it was safe for polymer frames, and thsi is the only area with any problems. 0 -
Is it really true that "Rev."Moon owns Kahr? If so I would nwver own one. 0 -
No, he does not own Kahr. His son owns the company, and owns Auto-Ordinance as well.
I have read in several of the magazines that there is no connection between the father and the company. From what I have read, the company is on the "up and up"; pays royalties for licensed/patented designs, and the like.0 -
I wouldn't want to feed any money into the organization. These people are hypnotized groupies.
Years back before we knew about Rev Moon, they advertized a fourth of July fireworks display in their compound in Westchester, NY. We went with the kids and joined a large crowd on a lawn in front of a stage/bandstand and waited interminably for the fireworks. Meanwile, Rev Moon raged on the stage in that horrible gutteral Korean language while his cameramen filmed the whole scene as if it were a popular rally. There was no translation of the Korean so the crowd soon became aware of the real object of the event. There was a near riot and they were forced to start the fireworks.
In talking with some of these Moonies they were guarded, distant and wierd.0
