Dumoulin 264 WIN
Hello,
I have been trying to determine the value of a rifle that my son purchased for $100, with no luck so far. Stamped on the barrel are the following:
".264 Winch, B.Belindee, H.DUMOULIN MILFORT-LIEGE MADE IN BELGIUM, R under a *, R under a crown, P.V. under a line, ELG inside a circle topped with a crown, a D inside a diamond 3641". On the breech: "R under a *, P.V. under a line, 2 chevrons with and arrow pointing down at their center, 3641".
The gun is drilled and tapped for scope mounts, checkered forearm and handgrip. No engraving. Bolt action, I am not sure if it is a mauser or sako action
I have discovered that the making firm is Henri Dumoulin of Belgium, b.belindee is french for "jacketed bullet, ELG, I believe, is the Leige proof house stamp.
Would you happen to know the current value, orginal selling price, and any idea as to the it's age. I have been unable to discover anything except as mentioned above.
The rifle is in very good condition with some very minor surface rust.
Thank you very much for any information,
Bob

Kind of confusing situation with the rifles manufactured under the Dumoulin name? As their is multiple entities using that name.
Be that as it may, "H. Dumoulin" is supposed to be one of the better one's. Best Hundred bucks your kid ever spent, as long as it's not HOT.
There first production rifles after the war, used refurbished military actions, then they went to commercial actions. Since the .264 Winchester has been around for 40 years or more, it's hard to say which one your kid has?
If it's one of the commercial Mauser actions, he's hit the jackpot.

Thanks Rufe,
The rifle has the FN mauser action with jeweled pattern on the bolt and magazine follower.
Thanks again,
