The little PPks are nice weapons. Unfortunately, due to the war, records are sparse and the exact date of manufacture cannot be determined.

Through dilegent comparison with other collectors we have established a time line using known pistols and their sernos.

your pistol was made in late '38 or '39. You really didn't provide the information needed to evaluate the weapon so I will assume it is a pre-war commercial with nothing special.

If the grips have no cracks, you would realize a value of $360-$495. Due to the initials defacing the weapon, I personally would only go about $360.

    Sorry.

Thanks for the reply. The PPK has a history in my family. The uncle was an American citizen who worked for a defense contractor (I think) that sent him to Germany in the early 30's. We don't know what he did or his job but he had lots of tech manuals and books on mech engineering and the sort he left with us. He married a German lady but had to leave Germany shortly before WWII got real nasty. He brought the pistol back with him. If I understand the story, he purchased it new and carried it for self defense while over there. It sat in a trunk in a small belt clip holster for thirty + years until he passed on in the late 80's, which is when I became it's new owner. He had stored a trunk full of books and the PPK in my mother's attic and I found it sorting through his things he had left there.
