22 cal Ithica lever-action rifle?
A friend of mine asked me about the value of 4 of his dad's old rifles he was looking to get rid of. All are Ithica branded 22 cal lever-action, and branded "Ithica firearms New York ... " on the right side of barrel, but are engraved "made in West Germany" on the left side. All have very nice wood stocks, 2 engraved silver metal, and one blued, 1 natural steel. Any ideas as to what they might be worth? they are definitely older, but I thought Ithica only made shotguns.

These have the standard tube magazine under the barrel. Look like they would hold 12 - 15 rounds, although I have not had the opportunity to fire, or load them to see how many the tube holds. I am sure they are repeters. 0 -
The Model 49, Std., Delux, and Presentation grade were all single shot. In 1962 they added 22 mag. chambering option.
In 1968 they came out w/ the 49R that had a tubular mag.
I don't believe any of the 49's were made outside of this country.
The model 72 mentioned above was mfg. under license by Erma in Germany from 1973-1979
Your comment about engraving is not clear, but if your saying that one or more of the rifles has decorative engraving, depending on the quality that could increase the value, maybe considerably.
Excluding the aspect of engraving value for rifles in very good to excellent condition would range $250 to $300 with +/- for different regions of the country.
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0 -
