I have looked at a few different products from both of these company's and Browning does make some out standing firearms but I think I would give the edge to Beretta. Some of Beretta's arms are about as good as it gets. 0 -

Field grade guns, holding value was the question.
I own and have owned both types. I believe the Beretta holds it's value better, and I believe the value books will bear this out (however it's close). Both are well made vs. the price. For me it really comes down to how you like the cast and drop of the stock, and the smoothness of the action. I don't think you'd go wrong with either make. I think Browning has the edge in the "looks" and Beretta has the edge in "feel". Both shoot as well as any expensive shotgun. Pick whichever you like, 28" barrels, screw in chokes, you may wish to consider a "sporting clays" model even if you're going to use it for field since it will hold it's value a little better, and will work for any game (skeet, trap, clays) if you want.

I would say Bertta they are just better made[:)] 0 -
Beretta is the oldest firearms company in the world and Browning had some of the most ingenious patents. Both have great quality control in their current manufacturing. Geeguy is right on about differences in the cast, drop and balance. The ultimate difference in resale value would be negligible. Pick up and point each. You'll know which one trips your trigger in the field. Personally, I have a 1950's Browning superposed that nothing has upstaged yet. But thats just me.

My personal preference would have to be Browning. I have shot Beretta's and they are fine guns, but I have not brought myself to purchase a Beretta O/U. It was rather easy with the Brownings though[:)]
just my opinion though, I haven't much on Beretta's to compare with
