C&R question Pt. 2
OK, let me clarify my query in more specific terms. I started a new topic since the replies were already at 8. For those confused, please see my original post titled 'C&R question'.
Let's say there are 2 C&R holders. Guy #1 orders 2 of the same gun from a dealer to get a quantity discount. After he receives them, he sells one gun to Guy #2 for the exact amount he bought it for, therefore not making a profit. Is this OK? Gray area?
Another question. When you receive a gun (C&R) in the mail, are you legally required to sign for it? Or is this a dealer/carrier preference? I've had this issue when ordering ammo. I know you can't get a gun shipped to an address other than the one on your license.

Q1 don't do it. You cannot prove the price received and even with a receipt it looks like dealing. If you sell it a year later, then it looks different.
Q2 Shipper/dealer preference. Not required by BATF. Some things can be sent by mail and no signature required unless sent that way.

The BATF may also look at the the discount received for the volume purchase of C&R type firearms, whether it be $10/$20 as profiting when you sell off the unwanted firearms even at the same purchase price. It would look to me that by buying/selling firearms just to receive the volume discount savings is in a way the same as selling firearms for more then the purchase price. Now even I am confused.[8D] 0
