To respond to your questions in order:

    1. If scope and mount are in acceptable condition, you stole them. Them mount is VERY valuable. I refer to the hulking dinosaur that weighs nearly half a pound.

    2. The colonel is correct. These items were used during WW II on No. 4 T series rifles, made (that is, assembled) by Holland & Holland.

    3. MoD tested sniping rifles from all warring nations throughout WW II. Surprisingly, No. 4 T series were superior to all others.

I know they made and mounted them, but every time I hear mention of this I just shake my head in wonder ... there's just something about the combination ... for me it conjurs up a funny image of a "tommy", helmet askew ... straining to use the scope and blaze away[:D]

As for using scope in sniper rifle setup ... they did and the end product was just about on a par with, to somewhat above, all other sniper setups of that era.

And if you want us to tell you what a good deal you got on scope and mount ... OK ... good buy, ya got the whole setup for typically what a mount would sell for ... if not less.

If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!
