Same here, I have about a year ago aquired a B&L 6-24 with 1/8 external (Cam) adjust target scope.

I have used both Lyman Super Targetspot and Unertl Scopes. I think you will be well pleased with a Super Targetspot or Unertl. Some models of the Unertl, I believe they are called Varmint models, don't have the paralax adjustment. For precise target shooting you should get one with paralax adjustment. If you can find a Fecker or Litschert, they will probably be nearly as good as Lyman or Unertl. I had a Bausch & Lomb 6-24X and found the windage and elevation adjustments to be confusing. They also tended to be stiff as the lubricant has had 30 or more years to dry since they were last manufactured.

i have a 12X and a 18X UNERTL that i use on my 52, and at 100 yds you can follow the trajectory of the buulet and actualy see it hit the target. both of my scopes are around 40-50 yrs old, and while LYMAN made a decent copy, the UNERTL is far superior in optics and adjustment. the 18X was good enough to shoot a 400-26X possible in prone at 100 yds. go with the period correct, original glass. best regards, mike.

I have three Unertl's. The 24X is on my custom hi-wall single shot 25-06.
The 15X is on the Custom Remington 700 single shot 22-250
and the 20X is on the Weatherby MKV.270mag.

All are heavy barreled bench rest type rifles and all are parralex adjustable for precise varmit and target shooting and all the scopes are over 40yrs old.

Don't know about the Lyman, but I do recommend these Unertl's. Never a problem, bright clear glass and positive adjustments.
