Browning Sweet 16 - Miroku
While I am fairly certain that the Sweet 16 was made in Japan for a short time, I am curious as to whether the barrels were fixed choke, Invector, or Invector Plus. Or maybe more than one configuration was available. I could find no current GB lot with a Japanese Sweet 16 nor the 16 ga Invector/Plus tubes. Thanks in advance. Best, Jim

Reintroduced in 1987. I find no mention of choke options and somewhat doubt there were any because of it being a 16 ga.

I have a Belgium Browning Sweet Sixteen and I was able to buy a Japanese barrel off the internet with the interchangable Invector choke so I could use steel shot. It is a Browning 16 gauge 2 3/4" 28" barrel and came with 3 different choke tubes. I also purchased a Japanese Invector Plus barrel for my Belgium Light Twelve. I don't know if they made the Invector Plus in 16 gauge. The Plus means back-bored barrel. It became standard on the A-5 mag in 1994 and they weren't making the Sweet Sixteen any more by then so I don't think they did. In the 24th Blue Book it says the Invector choke was standard on the 1987-1992 Sweet Sixteen Miroku.

Thanks Nord, DCJ10 - I was hoping there were some out there. I would like to have a Japanese barrel with the choke tube flexiblity and steel-shot hardness. My Belgian Sweet 16 has a modified choke barrel. As always, help and advice here is sincerely appreciated. 0 -
The one book I have says Browning, "MIROKU" reintroduced the Sweet Sixteen" in 1987-1992 and it had a vent rib with Invector chokes. I believe "Miruko" only manufactured the 16 ga. in a Sweet Sixteen, because I see no mention of a standard 16 ga.. by Miruko. They also ran 4500 for Duck Unlimited in 1988. Hope this helps.
