The worth of guns ...

About 10 years ago, my grandfather gave me three guns. They are all in good condition, and I have done some research on them, but can't really find what they are worth. So, I was hoping I could lay out the info here and see what the experts think.

    Gun #1:
    Savage 250-3000
    Serial Number: 181691
    Year of manufacture: 1916
I shot this for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised. The gun has a scope that I am assuming was added and has a few nicks in the stock, but nothing terrible. It is a single shot (or else I am too stupid to find the magazine) but I was also wondering if Savage put out an add on magazine.

    Gun #2:
Winchester 16 gauge shotgun (Model 12)
    Serial Number: 568297
This is the one I know least about, but the general comments are as follows: 2 _ full choke, nickel-steel barrel, pump action

    Gun #3:
    Winchester 30-30 (Model 94)
    Serial Number: 2209474
    Year of manufacture: 1956
I have used this one occaisionally for some target practice, but again have no idea of the value.

Any help here would be appreciated.

The model 94 being "pre-64" and thus of higher perceived (and actual) quality is worth some money. Value is a function of demand, right, and pre-64's are in demand. It is worth what someone will pay, and what they will pay will depend greatly upon the condition of the rifle, that is like new, 60% of new condition (metal and wood) whether it has original box or papers etc. Can not really give you a value range without a clear and accurate description of the condition of the firearms, and there is considerable variation regionally. What is treasured in one part of the country can hardly be sold in other parts. That said, I would think this rifle in say 90% condition could likely be sold at or north of $400. If condition is higher or it is a less common varient likely higher.

Might be a model 99, if is a lever action. It will have a rotery magazine. I don't recall if they came drilled and taped for a scope.
never the less the 250-3000 is a very fine rifle and are becoming hard to come by in good shape. Verify the model #

If its clean $400-$600 (Aprox) that what I see model 12, 12ga are running I also have the 16 & 12 ga grew up with both. the 16 still gets a work out now and then [:)]

All in all, a collection worth keeping in good shape IMHOP
