Gp 100 grip question.

I am trying to take off the orignal grip and replave w/ a newer one. In the instruction manula it says to "remove the grip panel locator". I can't seem to budge it. How hard should it come out? Is there any secret?

  I replaced mine with Pachmayers with no difficulty. Been a while, but I seem to remember removing a screw, no more trouble than that.

  I just stretch the grip over that thing. The bar at the bottom of the frame is what you are talking about? Mine doesn't come out either. Could be, maybe, by tapping it out, but hasn't been needed for me.

  I replaced my originals with Pachmeyers. Mine just stretched over that.
