Where to get a gun something like this one...
http://www.remington.com/firearms/centerfire/700lvsf.htm
It's a remington light varmit.
I want something like this but in a 308, 7mm08, or 260 cal. or something in that neighborhood. Are there any other makers that have something close to this or should I start talking to a gun smith. My grandad really likes my rem. sendero but it is way to big of a gun for him and I was trying to find him the next closest thing. I saw that Rem. has the new light varmit but he needs something in a little bigger caliber than what they make. Thanks again guys

The Remington Model Seven is very close to this and available in several stock/finish configurations as well as the calibers you mention. 0 -
If you want something with the heavier bbl you might look at some of the Police type rifles.Remington makes some with(I believe)20" bbls and so does Savage in the larger short action calibers.Be sure to find out about the rate of bbl twist on these type rifles, as they are sometimes designed for heavy for caliber bullets(urban tactical work).--Browning has handy little sporter type carbines (21" bbls)in 22WSSM and 243WSSM calibers and Ruger has small carbines with 20" bbls in 308,260,etc.............Good Luck.......[8D]---- PS= I don't think anyone makes another with the fluted heavier (light varmit)bbl right now. Those are good looking, handy guns.--You could buy one with the 22-250 boltface and probably have the bbl rebored to a larger caliber ??? 0 -
Why not consider the excellent Model 77 from Ruger. 22" bbl, 6 3/4 lbs., multitude of chamberings, REASONABLE PRICE. 0 -
How about a Tikka T3 lite? They are great guns and promise the best accuracy of any make. Check on this site for them.
