EAA Witness 10MM Compact

Does anyone own one of these Italian made pistols? How do they hold up to the 10MM pressures? How is the customer service if they should need a repair? How about reliability, any jamming problems? Accuracy, out to 25 yards?

    The EAA line of hand guns is excellent. I have a 10mm and I like it alot. Out of the box accuracy is better than average. The only jams I have experienced are those caused by me not making sure the rounds are seated all the way back in the mag. The lock and cock ability of the gun I like alot. If you get one I suggest the wonder finish. The only weak point I have noticed is the way the mags are manufactured. I have found no after market mags for the 10mm. That goes for the full size as well as the comact model. The thing I dont like about the mag is the weld spot they use on the back of the mag. I am just used to no welded mags. This is my issue they work great. My 2 cents [8D]

    Greg, thanks for the feedback. What kinds of problems are you having with the magazines? Are there aftermarket mags that function better?

    Chris I'm going to get one very soon. Within 2 months I'd say... Unlike some other designs I've really not heard any major problems with the Witness line with thier 10mm's.

    What kind of velocity will you get out of the shorter barrel of the Witness Compact? Are there any ammo makers that make a hot 10MM round? Most of the factory ammo for self defense is kind of watered down I understand.

    Chris: There are several ammo makers that make hot loads for the 10mm. Corbon is one but there are several. Bambihunter has a favorite but the name escapes me at the moment. Velocity at the muzzel depends on the round. 1000fps is very do-able. My 2 cents [8D] I just ordered the 165 grain doubletap. I will let you know how they work out. [8D]

    I own a 9mm Witness full size that and i swear by the accuracy that I achieve with it. I've also shot the 10mm version of the witness and its the same as the 9mm...an excellent handgun. Its honestly the best gun for the price and even probably one of the most underated handguns on the market. From every gun range i go to with my witness, i receive nothing but awe as in they dont see many of them but they say they are great when i ask what they think of them. They always say that they are excellent handguns. Buy it.
