For the $$$ not a bad SA, but I would suggest that you get it in a different caliber, say 45 colt or ???

Reason for the suggestion is that the 44 mag load is going to put maximum stress on the gun. Sure you could shoot 44 special or light loaded 44 mags, but, unless you do your own loading those options will probably run you more than ammo for a different caliber.

I've shot one in 45 Colt, not 44 mag. and it was alright, trigger could have been better and they can probably be tuned. After all we are talking a sub-$300 pistol here, so set your expectations accordingly.

If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!

If your talking the Ruger they are more heavily built, but if you want to hunt w/ a SA you might want to consider a Ruger Super Blackhawk with a 7 1/2 inch bbl.

I agree w/ contenderman, the Ruger Super Blackhawk is the only .44mag that I have shot that is actually pleasurable to shoot.
