3200 broken?
I'm wondering what's wrong with my 3200. I can select the top barrel, and fire it, then the bottom barrel. I cannot select the bottom barrel, and fire it, then the top barrel. What did I break and how do I fix it? I've found a bunch of 3200 parts for sale here on GB, so I'd like to fix this.
Thanks for your help.

whats your experience on these guns? i can help but its hard to explain. you have mechanical triggers. the first sets the second, you have a selector/safety malfuction inside the trigger group. the crossover connect is working but the single shot isnt. im away from my ipb books. its gonna be hard to tell you what to do. do you have internal parts to hammers and sears, etc...?

so the top barrel will fire but after the top barrel is fired will the bottom continue and fire or does it fire at all?

both bbls fire. so the hammer and sears are working. its the engagement from selector to sear thats broken. i say its the selector that engages the bottom sear that is messed up. whatya think 'a.a.skeet?'

with the bottom barrel selected you cannot fire the bottom barrel, then fire the top barrel. Imagine you are shooting doubles you can do it, but you have to go with the top barrel first. Since it's choked full-top/ modified-bottom barrel, it would be preferable to shoot the bottom barrel first, because that clay is closer to you than the second clay. Maybe this doesn't help solve the problem at all. Bobski- If I took the shotgun to a good gunsmith how long would I expect it to be gone, or could I tell him to order the stuff in advance? Thanks for the help.

The solution to the malfunction is to sell me the gun at 1/2 of what you paid for it and use the money to go buy that Browning.[:D] I'm trying to plan a trip down to see the boys next month. I can look at it then if you can wait. BOBSKI, are parts still available from REM.? If not,who would be the next best choice? 0 -

rule # 1; if you don't know... don't. take this to a good gunsmith. 2 weeks to 3 months (?). remington has some parts as does gunparts corp. 0 -
if he has the part in his bin, youre in and out in a 1/2 hour. to fix requires the stock off, special tools, and springs going everywhere. since it has to do with triggers, take it to a smith who works on o&u's. if youve never worked on a 3200 without being first coached and taught, dont try it. any good o&u smith has 3200 parts squirreled away. figure about 100.00. its worth it. have him give your guts the once over and clean. that alone is worth the cost. once complete, figure another 20 years not worrying about it. trap55...some kreigoff trigger group parts are interchangable in a pinch. my 3200 has kriegoff sears right now! cant rememeber who remington sold the 3200 parts inventory too. might try 'the gunmakers cabinet' in ny. talk to gary mingelli. tell him bobski sent you. dave, where are you in the usa? i can try to get you close to a smith thru NSSA or ATA.
