US 1917 Winchester very low ss#
I have a US 1917 winchester with ss # 6055. The gun is all military
and has not been altered, the barrel has the bomb and a date of
8 - 18. The bore is like new and the gun is in excelent overall
condition. The stock forend has a W stamped on the end and is
walnut with matching hand gards. I plan to sell the gun I need
some input on what would be a fair price. Thanks

Here in my area 1917 go from $250.00 for a Eddystone in very good condition to around $400.00 for a Remington and about that or a few dollar more for a Winschester...

Check the auction site for a good idea. I sold an Eddystone, excellent conditions a couple of years ago for $400 and I would expect the other makes to do better. Still, it is what you can get and that is what an auction is all about. 0 -
jeanders...
Put it up on the auctions here at GB with an opening bid at $350 (make sure you post several good pictures with the description you provided in this post). I suspect that your rifle is not 100% original as built though... serial number 6055 was made in August of 1917, and you say it has an August 1918 barrel on it[?]
